General Unpack Shell for ARC, PAK, ZIP, ZOO, DWC and LZH archives.
Syntax: GUS «archive_name»
GUS will extract six kinds of popular archive file types into the
current directory by means of the following programs:
ARC type files: PKXARC «filename»
PAK type files: PAK e «filename»
ZIP type files: PKUNZIP «filename»
ZOO type files: LOOZ x «filename»
DWC type files: DWC e «filename»
LZH type files: LHARC e /m «filename»
Please make sure that those programs are within reach of the system
path. By means of a sector edit utility, you may edit GUS.EXE in
order to obtain different filenames.
Note, that you may substitute 'LOOZ' by 'ZOO ' (note the space!), as
well as 'PKXARC ' by 'PKUNPAK' (again, note the space).
Make sure that you don't use up more characters than are provided
for within GUS.EXE.
For DWC type archive files, GUS is smart enough to know that the DWC
program doesn't recognize archive files when they don't have the
extension ".DWC", so GUS will rename the archive to "*.DWC" before
letting DWC perform the extraction. Afterwards, the archive gets
it's original name back.
GUS is written in Turbo Pascal V5.0 and will occupy close to 12K
of RAM when it's working. All unpacker programs are called by
means of the COMMAND.COM interpreter, so that adds a little more to
the memory used. GUS will use the COMSPEC environment variable to
locate the interpreter.
When I have a bit more time, I will rewrite GUS in assembler.
For the time being, it will have to do.
For comments of any kind, you can reach me through fidonet mail.
My address is 2:29/12.1 (CoCo's BBS, As - Belgium).

Version Comment
~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
1.10 - Added LZH archives, and changed the way DWC archives are
identified in order to identify them even if up to 1K of
rubbish is appended to the end of a DWC archive.
This is useful for DWC archives which have been transferred
by means of an Xmodem protocol.
1.00 - Base version. (Turbo Pascal 5.00)
